Dr. Jessie Stevens received the vaccine for a deadly virus when she worked in the lab it was made in. It didn’t cross her mind that one day she might be the only one immune to the lethal virus. When the lab studying the virus is attacked by terrorist and the virus is stolen by terrorists, Jessie’s expertise and immunity are priceless. Colonel Jake McCrea’s job is to protect Jessie and to help prevent the virus from changing hands and possibly infecting unsuspecting Americans before a vaccine can be made available. Sparks fly between the two and both know there is something more there if they want it, but they have to survive the terrorists and virus before finding out what could be.

The story line in Triage is very intense and moments are very tragic, so it seems odd to say the characters were fun, but they really were. Jake and his friends have such practical, fun senses of humor that it balances the tragedy, making the story very well rounded. Military and medical buffs will love it because Ms. De Sues brings in very real elements of those fields, while still staying true to building a really sweet, believable, enviable romance.
