I read Sandra Sookoo because she totally cracks me up. Her heroines have a self understanding that is admirable and Anne is no exception. At the start of the story she is facing death with an irony and subtle sarcasm that hold up even when she has to face her demon, literally.

Gregg Carter, demon and IRS auditor is just the right hero for this heroine, if circumstances can just be altered so that they can be together. So, to sum up, sexy heroes, real women heroines and humor. A real win-win combination.

Eating, demon smacking and sexual tension. Is there really much more a paranormal story needs? Ms. Thacker nailed a fast paced story that kept the tension growing and left me satisfied…enough. A few choice openings were left for future books and I cannot wait to get them in my hot little hands. I liked that there was patience in the characters. Both Amy and James wanted to jump each other, but they let things build to the boiling point instead of going with the first urge. The fight scenes were great, majick original and interesting. It’s an all around great paranormal story that I think anyone who enjoys the genre will be able to get into and want more of.

This book was a fast read—almost too fast. It felt hurried and had it been a bit longer the book would have been just about perfect. The characters were likable and it had a solid plot. There was an obvious and strong connection between Devlin and Cilia right from the start. The sexual tension between them made it even better when they got together. I loved his family and they tied beautifully into the tale.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a short read with a great story line.

The second book in the author’s Dragon Lord series continues from the first book, which you will want to read as well. This story gives the reader another deliciously “hot” dragon determined to win his mate and her love.

Lady Sabine has fallen in lust, possibly more, with the golden dragon-shifting lord. She is determined to find a worthy mate, not play games with the laughing, handsome Lord Berg. He disappointed her already by leaving once when he was about to prove his merit. Although he wants to claim her as his mate now that he has returned, she resists. She insists he take part in the Bride Hunt. If he cannot find her, they will not wed.

Again the characters are well written and have the reader pulling from them. She has her reasons for resisting the dragon lord she loves. He has reasons why he left her before, but he will prove his love and worthiness rather than merely explain. If he can survive…

As with the first novella in the series, you will have to read this short, but hot romance to find out what happens. Again, the characters will win your heart.

Talk about a “hot” dragon…Grun definitely filled that role. This story was further proof, at least fiction-wise, that racial differences don’t matter in the face of true love.

Oh no! The book ended all too soon! I loved this first book and look forward to reading the next part, II: The First Dark Diary, coming in July 2010.

The author wove a wonderful story with numerous twists and turns, pulling me eagerly along all the way to the end. It was an enjoyable different version of the vampire world. The characters were well drawn, emotions running deep, including for the villainess.

I particularly loved Addison’s thoughts about Eva: His heart was as dead as his body, or so he thought, yet this human woman kindled every dormant emotion he possessed. And I enjoyed when he first took her in his arms to fly through the sky because He wanted to give her an adventure that few humans ever experience. A special gift, just for her. He was so very much my kind of hero! Eva, too, was special and her love for Addison was a beautiful thing to experience.
