This is the story you want to curl up by a fire with on a rainy day (or snowy day as it is here.) The world building was wonderful, I had the whole story playing vividly in my mind. The hero and heroine's chemistry was believable, and I enjoyed 'watching' their love story unfold. There were many suspenseful areas that had me glued to the story to see what would happen next. Some of the women characters in the story had been raped in their past, a warning to those who may be sensitive to that subject. It wasn't something that played out in the story, though, it simply hinted of the rough lives mid-19th century Americans faced at times. It's a definite must read for any historical romance fan!
Hi Olivia,
ReplyDeleteI posted a comment, but doesn't look like it showed up--just wanted to thank you so much for reviewing Fire Eyes! And I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I always try to write realistically, because I think that's important for the reader to be able to believe in what's going on. You might also like TIME PLAINS DRIFTER, my new release (in December) and also A NIGHT FOR MIRACLES, also a December release--a short story.
Thanks again for your wonderful review. I appreciate that!
