Kristabelle has a special power. It allows her to take souls from people and put them into glass. It’s something she never used until a dark order takes over her town and she is forced to do their bidding for the safety of her family. Darius is playing a part, infiltrating the dark order with hopes of destroying it before it spreads. The two are pawns, working for different masters, yet both desire the same thing, for the darkness to end and for the peace they both long for to return. Turning to each other for comfort quickly becomes more and Darius knows he must help Kristabelle, but both know they are both just one wrong move away from exposing the truths about themselves and destroying them both.
Vermillion offers a very different look at the past. I think we all have ideas about how hard life was in the 1500’s but this story really brings the hardships and small joys out along with the amazing magic Ms Scott weaves. For those who enjoy the long passed time period stories, this is a good one filled with intrigue, romance, lust and suspense.
