Jocelyn Grier is a doctor in the Earth world now controlled by Gathosians. As a female she would normally be forced into a life of degradation and sexual servitude, but she has been fortunate to avoid that for the most part. She now works with the Resistance and Codename Courtesan, a network of female spies that use a succubus brain wave modifier to avoid the actual physical act of having sex. She takes on a special assignment but doesn’t really know what to expect.

Evard Keenan is a Bartonese male and a famed Chemist relegated to slave labor at the hands of the Gathosians. For many humans he seems more myth than man. Some think he is the only hope for survival for the captive human race, but some think he may be a traitor. He needs the help of the Resistance to escape his tormentors, but can he trust the woman sent to give him much-needed pleasure?

The characters are well drawn and the reader will pull for both Jocelyn (Spring) and Evard from the moment introduced to them. The conflicts are many and the world beautifully created. As for the heat element…keep a fan handy.
