Addictions come in many forms and in many strengths. Falling in love with a vampire can be addictive and deadly. Very special, too.
Angela has wanted nothing to do with vampires or anything dark and sinister, but her best friend drags her into the scene. As much as she worries about her friend, she finds herself drawn to a half-breed vampire, Nicholai, and a dark, brooding vampire hunter, John, at the same time. Both men want her for different reasons. Who can she trust? Who can she dare to love?
I was drawn into the story from the opening line: “We all make mistakes.” I wanted to know what particular mistake Angela had made. After that, the author wove a heart-touching story about the addiction and problems with being involved with a vampire. The characters were complex and the conflicts believable based on the story world. The setting details were vivid and the characters’ emotions well revealed.
