This was a very short, very hot story about two people who have long been in lust/love. Early in life they were kept apart by justifiable reasons, at least acceptable reasons to the reader. But now that they’re grown up and thrust back into one another’s lives…
I loved Kasey’s thought early in the story line “She’d even named her battery-operated boyfriend after him.” Now that summed up her long-time fascination and desire for Cole. A short time in the story later he thought, “He’d never be able to give this up, never go back to the game of ‘keep away’ he’d played for most of their lives.” I was pulling for them to find their way together from that moment on.
The characters won me over early on and I found the internal and external conflicts believable. Plus there was the added bonus of some nice, hot sex while the characters struggled with their needs and their feelings.
